5 things to check out at Disneyland's Diamond Celebration

5 things to check out at Disneyland's Diamond Celebration

Disneyland is celebrating it's 60th anniversary this year and it's looking sparkly!  Here are 5 things you should check out if you go to Disneyland during it's Diamond Celebration.

1- Paint the Night

Paint the Night

This parade is one you shouldn't miss!  It is amazing and I really love it.  Make sure to get there early before it starts to make sure you find a good spot to watch it.  There's usually a parade around 8:50pm and one at 11pm.  If you can, consider watching the later one since it tends to be less crowded.

2- Disneyland Forever Fireworks

Disneyland Forever Fireworks

Disneyland Forever is a new firework show.  I must admit that the 'Dreams Come True' fireworks to celebrate the 50th anniversary is still my favorite but this new show is worth watching too and includes lots of fun surprises!

3- World of Color and Diamond Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure

Mad T Party

Disney California Adventure (DCA) has a new version of World of Color called "Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney".  I have yet to watch the new show but I've heard great things and plan to see it soon.  DCA also brought back the Mad T Party except this time it has got a bit of a diamond theme!

4. Photo Spots

Matterhorn photo spot

They've added a few fun photos spots for the diamond celebration around both parks.  Pictures make the best souvenirs so I love any chance to take a fun photo!  My favorite so far is the one by the Matterhorn.  Make sure to stop by the castle for a photo too- it looks great in it's anniversary decor!  I love the blue and silver since it reminds me of my wedding colors!  :)

5. Diamond themed food and drinks

Carthay's Diamond Martini

There's lots of diamond themed food offerings including pretty cupcakes as well as drinks.  I love the  Diamond Martini at Carthay Circle- it has a big diamond shaped ice in it!  They have both a vodka and gin version.  There's also a Manhattan martini that also has the diamond shaped ice that is good too!

That wraps up my list although there are plenty more things to see during the 60th- new merchandise, ride updates (the Matterhorn is awesome), characters in dazzling outfits, and more!

  2. I LOVE Paint the Night and the Disneyland Forever Fireworks! I have yet to see the new WOC live, but I did see the new T Party and wasn't sure if the finale was just there for the actual birthday of Disneyland or for the whole 60th. It was Walt-centric, which I thought was neat. I also liked the Diamond Martini at Carthay and don't forget about the truffles. So far I've only tried the ones at Carthay, but I know there are more at Blue Bayou and Steakhouse 55.
