I have a few resolutions for 2015 but never got around to writing about them so here goes. Most of my resolutions are usually the same as the year before- read more, exercise more, blog more... and most of the time I fail at them miserably.
One resolution from 2014 that I didn't do so well on was to send more mail. I love getting letters and they brighten my day so I wanted to try to do the same for others. I bought drawers to keep cards, stationary, and stickers but I only used it a couple times. This year I hope to make use of those supplies and actually send more mail as I had originally planned.
Another one of my resolutions is to do something new at least once a month (if not more). It sounds somewhat simple but for someone who feels most comfortable with routine and staying at home, it can sometimes be challenging.
For example, last year we went on a Disney cruise for my birthday. When we booked it I was excited but at the same time I was nervous. Spending a couple days on a boat was something that was way out of my comfort zone and I must confess there were several moments when I wanted to cancel. Luckily my husband kept planning anyway and off to sea we went. I ended up having an amazing time.
After that I kept trying to push myself to do new things and I hope to continue that this year. It can be a new place, a new restaurant, a new hobby- just do something new.
So those are my resolutions. We already went somewhere new this month and I also started this new blog so I think I'm off to a good start. Now I just need to send some letters!
That's awesome you went on that cruise! I like the idea of trying something new every month. Sounds like you're off to a great start:)
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) At first I thought doing something new each month might sound too easy but a lot of times I'll go to the same places because they're familiar. I think it's good to remind oneself to try new things! I hope I can keep it up!
DeleteI think your resolutions are manageable. I've noticed you being more adventurous lately so I think you're on the right track with doing "new things". I'm also a creature of habit and fall into the trap of "we should do/go ___" but we never do because either we're busy with mundane things or don't feel like spending the money. We're slowly trying to break out of that box though so we'll see how it goes. :) Good luck with your new adventures and letter writing campaign. I started doing postcards vs. cards lately and I think that's helped since there's less space to write so you don't feel like you're going on and on. Plus postage is cheaper! ;D
ReplyDeleteThanks Hope! :) I like your postcard idea! I actually always buy them everywhere I go but then never get around to mailing them so I have a huge stack of them! Maybe I'll go through that stack and finally get them out to the people I meant to send them to! :D
